"...3496 Private Ernest Cooper Davey, 21st Battalion, of Bendigo, Vic. A labourer prior to enlistment, Pte Davey embarked from Melbourne with the 8th Reinforcements on HMAT Demosthenes on 29th December 1915. After transferring to a number of units he was eventually posted to the 57th Battalion where, on 25th February 1918, he was killed in action, aged 20. He was buried in the La Plus Douve Farm Cemetery, Belgium." - SOURCE (www.awm.gov.au)
