William's parents were George Leitch and Mary Agnes Moloney, who resided at Redcliffe. William enlisted 19 February 1917 at Brisbane. He was living at Paddington and he listed his occupation as a Carter. His unit embarked from Sydney, New South Wales on board HMAT A28 Miltiades on 2 August 1917. After the war William lived at Paddington in Brisbane until his death at age 28 on 1927.
