Brother of George Aubrey Vertue who returned to Australia on 10 July 1919 having served with the 9th Light Horse Regiment

Commenced return to Australia on 12 July 1919 aboard HT City of Exeter disembarking on 21 September 1919

Post war he became and accountant

On 10 June 1933 Arthur married Catherine Flora Morey in the Scots Church, Flinders Street, Adelaide, SA
