9 Aug 1918: Wounded AIF WW1, Private, 4833, 8th Infantry Battalion, Merris (France), On the 9th August 1918 Private 4833, Walter Richard Samuel Marchant was Wounded in Action (For the Second Time), once again receiving a Gunshot Wound (GSW) to the Right Leg whilst serving with the 8th Battalion. This time the GSW was more serious & it Fractured his Tibia & he had to undergo Immediate Surgery. This injury would lead to him being returned to Australia & Later Disharged.
20 Nov 1918: Embarked AIF WW1, Private, 4833, 8th Infantry Battalion, On the 20th November 1918 Private 4833, Walter Richard Samuel Marchant Embarked from England, Bound for Australia & Discharge from the AIF.
24 Feb 1919: Discharged AIF WW1, Private, 4833, 8th Infantry Battalion, On the 24th February 1919 Private 4833, Walter Richard Samuel Marchant was Discharged from the AIF for Medical Reasons (GSW Right Leg). His last active Unit was the 8th Infantry Battalion AIF.
