Military Medal
'For conspicuous bravery and leadership during the advance near VILLERS BRETONNEUX on the night of 24th/25th April 1918. both the Section Officer and Sergeant being casualties he promptly took command of a Sub-section and brought both guns into action under heavy enemy artillery fire. Many of the gun teams were killed or wounded, but he re-organised his teams and inflicted heavy losses on large parties of the enemy. he set a fine example of initiative and leadership throughout.'
