Son of George Albert Onley and Mary Onley nee Crone of Myrtleford, Victoria. Brother of Albert George Onley, Ruby Florence Onley, Ida Jane Onley, Alice May Onley, Arthur George Onley, Ivy Mary Onley, Victor Frederick Onley and Kingsley Edward West-Onley. The name of West was added after Kingsley married a Mrs West who had two children
