Awaiting memorialisation at Sandgate Cemetery, not forgotten.
104 years ago today, on the 21st May 1918, Private Archibald Scott, 56th Battalion (Reg No-254), miner (Abermain No.1 Colliery), father of five (Frank, Alice, Robert, Jessie, Walter). Died of Wounds, age about 37.
Born at Sleepborn, United Kingdom about 1881 to Archibald (died 1900, ANGLICAN 1-11. 104, unmarked grave, of Hannell Street, Smedmore, N.S.W.), and Alice Ann Scott nee Peel (died 1894, ANGLICAN 1-11. 104, unmarked grave, of Hannell Street, Smedmore, N.S.W.; husband of Edith Emeline Scott nee Pritcher (married?, died 1950, remarried as PHOENIX of Bishops Bridge, N.S.W.), Archie enlisted December 1915 with the 35th Battalion at West Maitland, N.S.W.
Admitted to hospital 20.5.1918 (GSW or SW legs, right arm).
Archie is resting at Crouy British Cemetery, France. Plot II Row C Grave II.
Mr. Scott’s name has been inscribed on the Abermain War Memorial and the Abermain Comforts Fund Pictorial Honour Roll. A member of the Grand United Order of Free Gardeners of Australia, name possibly inscribed on the Abermain Lodge Eden, G.U.O. of Free Gardeners Roll of Honour
Younger brother Ralph Peel Scott (also known as Pinky, 2nd Australian Tunnelling Company, Reg No-7857, born 1884, died 10.6.1941) resting same location - GENERAL-29. 55.

Wooden cross erected - 15.5.2016.
I submitted an application to DVA May 2020 asking for a Commonwealth War Graves Plaque, curbing and marble chip, and this was accepted July 2020.
Completed July 2021.

I placed a Memorial cross at brother Ralph’s unmarked gravesite on the 21st May 2020, 102 years after Archie had paid the supreme sacrifice for God, King & Country.
Flowers have been placed at the gravesite, many thanks from Archie and Ralph.
