Philip Godskelt Hector EVANS was born in Croydon, Sydney on 7th August, 1893

His parents were Andrew EVANS & Mary KINLYSIDE who married in Sydney in 1882

He married Rita Alberta SOLY in Sydney in 1913 - two children

His brother Cyril Eisle EVANS (SN 927) served in WW1 and was Killed in Action in 1915

"EVANS.—Died of wounds in France, Feb. 26, 1917, Pte. P. G. H. (Phil) Evans, aged 23 years, dearly beloved husband of Rita, and father of Olga and Phillips, Liverpool-road, Croydon.

EVANS.—Died of wounds, Feb. 26, 1917, in France, Pte P. G. H. (Phil) Evans, aged 23 years, dearly loved youngest son of Mrs Mary Evans, Bronte, Mills-street, Croydon, beloved brother of Ruth and Mrs. Lela Burns (late of Campsie). Inserted by his loving mother and sisters, Lela and Ruth, and nieces and nephew, Doris, Edna, and Dick.
