Biography

William was born the son of Fanny Maria Glennon (nee Brown) in 1890 his father is unknown. He married in 1910 Elsie Annie Jamieson (1886 - 1915) and had four children. William married Adelaide Jamieson (1892 - 1957) in 1916 six days before he enlisted a son (Harold) was born two months later.

"GLENNON. -Killed in France, between April 6 and 10, 1917, William Robert, loved husband of Adelaide Glennon, Hobart, aged 27 years, leaving a wife and four children to mourn their loss. He nobly did his duty. For God and Country." - from the Hobart Mercury 04 May 1917 (nla.gov.au)
