Son of Robert and Elizabeth Tidyman of 18 John Street, Woollahra, NSW; brother of William Colledge Tidyman who was wounded in action and later returned to Australia on 7 February 1919; he had been serving in the 17th Battalion; Christopher Tidy who was wounded in action and returned to Australia on 31 March 1919. he had served with the 17 Battalion
Death was due to a sniper's while looking after Prisoners of War
