29 Aug 1918: Honoured Military Medal, During the operations near ASSEVELLERS on 29th August 1918. Cpl. Graham Was the N.C.O in charge of the Battalion Signallers. When the Battalion advanced he, with two men, put out three thousand yards of cable when the cable ran out. He the salvaged enemy cable and continued on to about 200 yards in front of BARLEUX, when the cable again ran out. Cpl. Graham then went on for 1000 yards on to a rise and established communication with the men at the end of the cable, by means of a Lucas Lamp. At this time being under direct observation they were subjected to extremely heavy shelling and M.G fire. By Cpl. Grahams resourcefulness the Battalion was able to keep in communication and to send messages direct to Bde. HQ. Right throughout the operation. During the whole of the time he showed great fearlessness and devotion to duty, setting a fine example to his men.
