Son of Francis Charles Wills and Jane Wilson Wills of 66 Murray Street, Caulfield, Victoria. Brother of John McGregor Wills MM who returned to Australia 13 March 1919 having served with the 1st Light Horse Regiment

Also served in the Citizen Military Forces at Burnie, Tasmania and an active member of the Prahran Rifle Club
