Husband of Jessie Barbara Lemke of Dundas Street, Fairfield, Victoria; father of Irene Isabel Nichols (nee Lemke), Albert Walter Lemke, Jessie Lemke, Mary Margaret Lemke and Harold James Lemke
Private Lemke, of E company, 6th Battalion, who died from wounds on 10th May, was for two years a member of the Citizen Forces. He enlisted with the First Expeditionary Force. Born in Bunaloo, N.S.W., he was the second son of Mr. Charles Lemke, of Mathoura. He leaves a widow and five children, who live at Dundas-atreet, Fairfield. Before enlisting he was employed at Glen Iris Brick Co., Thornbury.
