Died on this date - 20th November......Pte Oliver Richard Missen was born at Ondit, near Beeac, Victoria in 1889. He enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force (A.I.F.) on 19th June, 1915 as a 26 year old Farmer.
Private Missen joined 21st Battalion at Gallipoli on 12th October, 1915. He was then posted to France on 26th March. 1916.
Private Missen was wounded in action in France on 3rd August, 1916. He was invalided to England with gunshot wounds to right front chest & admitted to Norfolk & Norwich War Hospital, Norwich, Norfolk, England on 2nd September, 1916 with bomb wounds to chest.
Private Oliver Richard Missen died at 12.25 pm on 20th November, 1916 as a result of his wounds. He was buried in Earlham Road Cemetery, Norwich, Norfolk, England where 23 other WW1 Australian Soldiers are buried.
