Son of Hubert Hugh Quinn and Mary Ann Quinn nee Bellette of Swansea.

Brother of James Levi Quinn who was killed in action on 13 June 1918 while serving with the 40th Battalion and is buried in the Assevillers New British Cemetery, Plot 1X, Row B, Grave 1; Trevor Quinn who died of bronchial-pneumonia while serving with the AustralianGraves Service and was buried in the Charleroi Communal Cemetery Row M, Grave 1

Husband of Ella Quinn nee McLean of Geeveston, Tasmania. George and Ella married on 27 DEcember 1910 in Geeveston, Tasmania.

Commenced return to Australia on 8 January 1919 aboard HT Orsova disembarking on 20 February 1919 at Melbourne for onward travel to Hobart, Tasmania
