Military Medal

'He followed the attacking troops and passed through the enemy's wire and found the trench occupied by the enemy. He returned with his wire and succeeded in finding a portion of the line occupied by our troops. His men assisting him became casualties under shell fire and his line was destroyed. He returned to Headquarters for more wire and this time successfully established communication with O.G. 1. He patrolled this line constantly for 12 hours, and owing to his efforts, communication was maintained throughout the day. He. has on previous occasions done good work.'
