Colin was severely wounde in action ( having his arm blown off at the shoulder) he died of his wound later that day. He was only 17 years 5 months old when he died. His family epitaph reads- SO BRAVE AND TRUE, SO GOOD AND KIND, FOR KING AND COUNTRY HE GAVE HIS ALL.
