Military Cross

"During operations he has invariably displayed great collness and personal gallantry.  At AMMAN at th end of March, 1918, he attended the wounded under very heavy shell, machine gun and rifle fire, and again during the second occupation of ES SALT in May, 1918.  This officer repeatedly moved out to the most exposed positions and attend the wounded uner very heavy fire.  On the 28 July, 1918, the area occupied by the Regiment by the WADI AUJA was heavily shelled and Captain Fitzhardinge moved about the area attending to theh wounded while the shelling was in progress, affordng a fine example of fearlessness and devotion to duty."
