4 Mar 1917: Honoured Mention in Dispatches, Citation reads that: This man displayed in repairing telephone line near Lesboeufs on the night 1 / 2 February 1917. He went out with Pte Hellis under heavy shell fire and repaired the cut line when same was of great importance. in this way communication was re-established with Battalion Headquarters and our artillery altered, when same was dangerously close to one of our working parties. Son of Arthur and Elizabeth Dickman of 50 William Street, Paddington, NSW; brother of Arthur Dickman who was killed in action on 27 January 1918 while serving with the 4th Battalion
