Son of Christian Charles Uebel and Sarah Jane Uebel of Sydney, NSW. Brother of Charles Alexander Uebel who was killed in action on 9 October 1917 while serving with the 19th Battalion and has no known grave. His name appears on Panel 23, Menin Gate, Ypres.
Husband of Mary Uebel nee Gilmour of Campbell Street, Glebe, NSW. Robert and Mary married during 1906c in St, Peters, NSW. Father of Clarice Catherine Uebel, Catherine Sarah Uebel and Robert Landles Uebel
Commenced return to Australia on 10 July 1916 aboard HS Clan McGallivary disembarking on 14 August 1916.
