CLARIDGE. - Killed in action, at Bullecourt, April 7th, 1917, Private Alexander David Claridge, 14th Battalion, aged 19, our beloved brother and nephew.
Killed instantaneous, flashed the cables,
That was the news it had to tell,
Of the brave lad who loved us dearly.
Of the boy we loved so well.
He has sailed on the last commission
On that beautiful ship called rest;
And his head is safely pillowed
On his great Commander's breast.
R.I.P.
- Inserted by his loving brothers and sister, Louisa, Thomas and Henry Claridge, and aunt and uncle, E. and A. Huggins.
