Eric's parents were Copeland Spode and Emily Isabel Andrews. His father was the Redcliffe Shire Clerk 1903- 1908. Eric attended the Humpybong State School and enlisted at age 19. He married Mabel Ellen Atwell in 1921. Younger brother, Thomas Errol [7476] also enlisted.
