Biography

"...2nd Lieutenant Louis Carl Roth... A civil engineer and surveyor of Elsternwick, he later served in the First World War, progressing from Lieutenant to Captain of the 2nd Pioneer Battalion, and was awarded a Military Cross (MC) on 18 April 1918. On 6 October 1918 he died of wounds received whilst serving in France, aged 24 years." - SOURCE (www.awm.gov.au)
