Pte Hubert Garfield CATO
Born 1885 New Town Tasmania the son of Samuel Joseph and Mary Cato (nee Coleman) and married to Lily Blanche Collidge he had spent some years serving with the 93rd Derwent Infantry, an orchardist at Cygnet Tasmania he embarked Adelaide 10th February 1917 on board “HMAT Seang Bee” with the 12th Infantry Battalion.
He was killed in action 18th September 1918 in France and like others with no known grave is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, France.
Mrs. H. G. Cato, Paget Street, South Hobart has received official notification that her husband, Private H. G. Cato was wounded and reported missing on the 18th September. Private Cato, who is the youngest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Cato, of Cygnet, entered Claremont in July, 1916 and left for the front in February of the following year with the 24th Reinforcements to the 12th Battalion and has been fighting in France since December, 1917.

Cato, Princess Street, Sandy Bay, youngest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Cato, Cygnet, and dear Daddy of Reggie, Marjorie, and Sheila, aged 33 years. ''Greater love hath no man"
