Military Medal
'During the attack on MT. ST. QUENTIN, near PERONNE, on the 31st August, 1918, Private WESLEY showed conspicuous gallantry in a bombing attack. The right flank of his company which was exposed, was heavily attacked along the trench by an enemy bombing party. In an hurriedly organised counter attacking party, Private WESLEY was the leading bomber, and by his absolute fearlessness and accurate throwing he demoralised the enemy party. Rushing forward along the trench he established a block, which he guarded continuously alone for 24 hours, beating off several counter attacks with heavy loss to the enemy.'
