Croix de Guerre (Belgium) Citation
This N.C.O. has taken part in successful raids on enemy positions at YPRES and WARLENCOURT and accompanied his Battalion in all operations undertaken in France and Belgium.
During the daylight penetration on MONUMENT WOOD on 9th July 1918, when ammunition was urgently required by the attacking party, he on his own initiative, salvaged and at great personal risk carried supplies over open country to them, establishing and maintaining dumps in the newly won front line.
His sterling example of courage and devotion to duty has at all times won the admiration of those associated with him.
