Christian name sometimes spelt Pieter. Son of Cornelius Zwart of Krommenie, Holland. Prior to coming to Australia Peter had served with the Dutch Marines for about six years

Husband of Kate Zwart nee McKinnon of Hoyleton, SA. Peter and Kate were married on 25 December 1911 at the residence of David McKinnon of Northfield, SA

Commenced return to Australia on 7 February 1919 aboard HT Lancashire disembarking on 26 March 1919
