Born in 1896 at Perranworthal, Cornwell and came to Australia with brother James, enlisted in WW1 AIF. Died Sunday 28th October 1917 aged 21 years. Buried at Grave 11, Row B11, China Wall Extension, Leper West-Vlaanderen, Belgium.

His brother, Private James Knuckey, Service Number 4716 aged 23 also fell whilst serving in the 20th Bn. Australian Infantry, A.I.F.
They were sons of John and Elizabeth Jane Knuckey, of Pembrouth, Stithians, Perranwell, Cornwall, England.They chose this inscription for their wargraves.
