4 Aug 1916: Wounded AIF WW1, Private, 6579, 7th Field Ambulance, Battle for Pozières , 4 August 1916 George was seriously injured whilst attempting to rescue injured soldiers.Transferred to No.1 Military Hospital in Boulogne then transferred to Emergency Hospital in Tankerton, Kent, England. February 2017 returned to Australia on Hospital Ship HMS Karoola and Discharged from army in June 1917 as physically unfit.
