Alexander Swan IMBER was born in Sydney in 1896

His parents were George Edward IMBER & Catherine COX who married in Sydney in 1892

He enlisted in Brisbane on 29th November, 1915 & embarked from Sydney on 22nd May, 1916 on the HMAT Warilda with the 3rd Field Artillery, 17th Reinforcements

Alexander was taken ill and sent to hospital where he died from Cephalitis and a brain abscess on 14th August, 1918

He is buried in the Mont Huon Military Cemetery and his name is memorialised on the Australian War Memorial

His last rank was Gunner with the 11th Field Artilllery Brigade

His brother George William IMBER (SN 6052) was Killed in Action on 9th April, 1918

His uncle Charles IMBER (SN 1623) Died of wounds on 23th August, 1916
