4 Oct 1916: Honoured Military Medal, Mouquet Farm, North of POZIERES, these two men are Stretcher Bearers, and are recommended for conspicuous bravery in repeatedly bringing wounded in under very heavy shell fire. They not merely collected and brought in wounded from the front firing line, but penetrated into No Man's Land and searched over the ground over which the advance of the Battalion was made on the night of the 9th/10th August, 1916, in order to find and remove the wounded. These two men are both recommended for high distinction
