Next of kin given as his mother Horace Howse and Mrs. Howse of Stranger Road, South Norwood, England. 

On 12 November 1917 the Army Corps Commander wrote to express his appreciation of the gallant services rendered by this soldier during the recent operation.  

Commenced return to Australia from Taranto on 10 October 1918 aboard HT Port Sydney disembarking on 2 December 1918
