    Theodore Friederick Ulrich (1888-1963), soldier and clerk, was born on 10 December 1888 at Ararat, Victoria...

    On 14 August 1914 he was appointed lieutenant in the 6th Battalion, Australian Imperial Force, and embarked for Egypt on 19 October. The battalion landed at Gallipoli on 25 April 1915; two days later Ulrich was promoted captain....
