THE LAST OF HIS LINE
Acting Corporal Edward Eames - Mr. W. Eames, of Sans Souci, has received notification from the Defence Department this week, to the effect that his son, Act.-Cpl. E. Eames has been dangerously wounded by a gunshot wound in the groin, and was admitted to hospital in France, on October 8. Act.-Cpl. Eames enlisted in April, 1917, and after doing a course of training at Duntroon Military College, left Sydney on June 16, 1917. Prior to enlisting, he was one of the Company Sergeant Majors of the local Cadets.
Private Edward Wareham Eames, died from effects of gunshot wound in the groin, on November 11. He was a great grandson of the late Commander Richard Sadleir, R.N., the first mayor of Liverpool. At the time of his enlistment, he was in the employ of the Public Construction Branch, and was the only son of Mr. W. F. Enmes of San Souci.
