Next of kin given as his sister Ethel May Bell of Leichhardt, NSW. On enlistment Alfred had given his marital status as separated.
Commenced return to Australia on 22 November 1919 aboard HT Aeneas disembarking at Sydney on 12 January 1920 for onward travel to Brisbane
