David John Wells
David was only a very young man when he enlisted and was sent overseas. On the voyage he was reported sick and taken to hospital in England. He was later discharged and sent to his battalion in Belgium, he arrived and was only a few days before he was re admitted to the hospital and subsequently passed away of pneumonia. He was the son of David Wells and Betsy Hannah and his three brothers also served in Belgium and France. Reuben did not return but Herbert Charles and Alfred George Wells returned to marry and have children. The family lost two of their four sons. Herbert served in Gallipoli and passed from the affects of war in 1941.
