Family

He was born in Northamptonshire England in 1879.

He served with the Northamptonshire Regiment for 13 years and served in India on the North West Frontier where he was awarded the Indian Medal with three clasps.

In 1909 he married Jessie Louise Poulton in Hastings Sussex and they immigrated to Western Australia that same year. They had two sons Henry George born 1909 in Hastings Sussex and John Arthur born 1910 in Fremantle.

Jessie died on 10/9/1912 in Fremantle.

Prior to enlisting on 6/1/1915 his two sons were put into Swan Boys Orphanage in Midland Junction.

He died on Walker's Ridge in the attack at the Nek. A Squadron was in the third line of attack immediately behind the 8th Lighthorse.
