Son of James and Ruth Costello of 103 Moncur Street, Woollahra, NSW formerly of 'Maryville', Alton Street, Woollahra, NSW

Brother of James Albert Costello who was killed in action on 2 May 1915 While serving with the 2nd Battlion and has no known grave. Name appears on the Lone Pine Memorial, Panel 17

Brother of Michael John Costello who was invalided back to Australia on 31 August 1916 having served with the 17th Battalion. Died of Tuberculosis in the Red Cross Hospital, Randwick, NSW on 27 April 1921 and was interred in the Randwick General Cemetery, Sydney, Roman Catholic Section, Row B, Grave 33
