Son of Francis Needham, Numurkah, Victoria

Private Don Needham enlisted early in the war, and on four separate occasions his participation in the hurly-burly brought him wounds. He always wrote cheerful letters home,  the whole of which disclosed a determination to "see the thing through." Though that was denied him. Don played his part manfully to that end, and his death in the thick of  battle is generally deplored. A younger brother (Frank) is still on active service. Mr and Mrs Needham have been made the recipients of many tokens of the sympathy of the  community in their affliction.
