Biography

Woodley Cole EASOM was born in 1892 in Paterson near West Maitland NSW

His parents were Joshua John EASOM and Charlotte Florence Millicent SYLMAN (known as Florence)

He enlisted on 14th August 1915 - 2nd Battalion, 15th reinforcements - Unit left Sydney on  HMAT  Star of England on 8th March, 1916

Taken on strength 54th Battalion on 20th April, 1916 he transferred to the 60th Battalion on 18th May 1916

He was killed in action in the charge at Fleurbaix on 19th July. 

No known grave - he is listed in VC Corner in the Australian Cemetery Memorial, Fromelles, France & the Australian War Memorial - he was awarded the British War Medal and the Victory Medal
