Albert was the sixth of seven children of Richard Baxter Casey (b1851 in Cork, Ireland) and Mary Elizabeth Chaplin (b1855 in Melbourne, Victoria). Richard (immigrated with his parents and siblings in the mid 1850s and settled at Three Mile Creek in Beechworth during the Gold Rush) and Mary married in Beechworth, Victoria in 1873. The family lived in Forbes and Cobar in New South Wales before moving to Melbourne, Victoria in the mid 1880s. Following Richard;s death in 1903, Mary relocated to Perth WA.
Albert worked as a Jockey and Clerk in Perth WA and enlisted in the AIF in September 1915 (Private; Service No:4259). He served in France - where he was WiA on two occasions - with 16th, 48th, and 70th Infantry Battalions and 12th Brigade Machine Gun Coy. Albert was attached to 48th Infantry Battalion when he was Discharged in September 1918.
In 1915 Albert married Ethel May Smith (b1887 in Perth, WA) and the couple settled in Perth WA where Albert worked as a Clerk and Hairdresser/Tobacconist. In 1922 he was charged with using his West Perth premises as a common betting shop. Albert died in 1929 and Ethel in 1960.
