FOUND!

This man was one of three brothers all born in the uk/County of kent He is my great uncle and I am the first family member in three generations to have finally found him. I found the burial place of his younger brother George Samuel withers in Belgium 2 years ago again the family knew he was in Belgium but did not know where.I am happy to say that my grandfather was aware before his passing. My Grandfather married the daughter of Albert Charles Withers.Out of the three brothers ONLY my great grandfather Albert Charles Withers survived the war albeit as a permanent Gas casualty.Or so I thought until finding my grat uncle Harry! The two brothers here served in the Royal Engineers and the Royal field Artillery respectively. Uncle Harry was by the start of the war already in Australia.I had only what my late grandmother told me to go on only that Harry went to Australia and was never seen again. Maybe there were family issues but although Harry survived the war for his own personal reasons he never to my knowledge returned to the UK. Horses must be in the blood because My great uncle Sam served as a horse handler with the Royal field artillery, Great uncle Harry was in the 12th Light horse and 3 generations later their great grandson and great nephew as in myself served as a mouted trooper in the Life Guards !
I am elated to find a missing family member but also saddened that I could not tell Harrys brothers ,and their Niece my grandmother. They would have been elated.
