Son of Thomas and Elizaeth Ann Mynard of Garfield, Victoria. Thomas returned to Australia on 14 March 1919 having served with the 8th Sanitary Section. Brother of John Mynard who returned to Australia on 21 March 1919 having served with the Australian Army Veterinary Corps and Walter Frank Mynard who returned to Australia on 6 September 1919 having served with the 6th Field Artillery Brigade
