Hermann -  a Farmer - and Wilhelmine raised their family at Laidley in QLD, and following Wilhelmine's death in 1901, Hermann remarried Augusta Hingst (nee Loose, born in Germany  in 1862).

Charles, a Labourer at Laidley on the Darling Downs in QLD was married in 1910 to Emma Hingst (born 1885 in Laidley, QLD), Emma died in 1911 and Charles worked as a Labourer at Tirroan on the Mt Perry Line in QLD until he enlisted in the AIF in April 1916. In May 1916 he remarried at Laidley, QLD to Eva Lillian Maud Pearce (born 1897 at Laidley in QLD). Charles served as a Private (Service No:2177) with 52 Infantry Battalion and 50 Infantry Battalion in France.

Following his Discharge in May 1919, he and Eva settled at Tirroan in Gin Gin, QLD where Charles was a Labourer.
