Son of Thomas MUDGE and Catherine Esther Grace nee MONTGOMERIE
Mr. John Alwyn Mudge died at his residence, Maturin Road, Glenelg, on Sunday last following an illness.
Mr. Mudge was one of the biggest farmers in the State. For many years he successfully managed his late father's interests in the Streaky Bay district. He spent most of his life in the country.
Educated at St. Peter's College, he served with the 1st AIF (Artillery) for over three years, and always took a keen interest in the welfare of the returned soldier.
He had travelled extensivley.
In addition to visiting England during the Great War, he went there again in 1924, returning via America, and also visited California, USA in 1930.
He was a keen lover of horses, and was seldom without some of his equine friends.
