Military Medal
'For gallantry and devotion to duty near VILLERS BRETONNEUX on 3rd May, 1918. As a runner he repeatedly went forward with messages to Companies through a most intense machine gun and rifle fire and never once failed to deliver his message. Throughout the operation Private KING showed a very high standard of courage and devotion to duty and his gallant conduct had a good effect on the other men.'
