OBITUARY
MR. AMBROSE D. ABBOTT.
The death occurred at the Wangaratta Hospital on Tuesday morning last of Mr. Ambrose Daniel Abbott, of Benalla, at the age of 50 years. Deceased, who was born at Benalla, had resided here all his life, with the exception of service in the late war, he being attached to the 14th Battalion. The funeral was to the Benalla cemetery on Wednesday last, when a large number of friends paid their last respects at the graveside. The coffin and flag bearers were all members of the Benalla branch of the R.S.S.S.I.LA. The  coffin bearers were Messrs. E. Palmer, L. Bamford, F. Watson, H. R. Burns, A. H. Smith, A. Roscoe, and the flag was borne by Messrs. W. Reynolds, F. Wurm, R. J. Murray, J. Leak, J. Pearson, G. McCartney, C. Glazebrook and B. Webber. Rev. C. M. Kennedy read the burial service, and soldiers' service was read by Mr. A. W. Roscoe, president of the Benalla sub-branch. Mr. Perry sounded The Last Post. Mr. E. A. Abbott had charge of the funeral arrangements.
