"BROTHERS KILLED.
Mrs. C. McNeil, of Ucolta, has been notified that her son, Private Thomas B. McNeil, had died of wounds in France on September 2. He was 24 years of age. His brother, Private A. J. McNeil, who was killed in action on August 13, was 22 years of age. They enlisted in March, 1915, and together served through the Gallipoli campaign, and also in France. Both were of a retiring disposition, and were highly respected by all who knew them. Much sympathy is felt for the family." - from the Adelaide Chronicle 28 Oct 1916 (nla.gov.au)
