On Tuesday last Mr. Charles Edward Owen, a returned soldier resident of the Bruthen district, died in the Bairnsdale District Hospital. The funeral which was in the hands of Messrs Holford and Craig, Bainrsdale, took place at the Bruthen cemetery yesterday. Members of the Bruthen brnach R.S.S.I.L.A. were the coffin bearers, and the coffin was draped with the Union jack. Rev. A.E. Clark (Bruthen) conducted the burial service. Mr Owen had been in indifferent health ever since his return from the war.
