DARDANELLES HEROES.
PRIVATE LESLIE LUNDIE.
Our Bungendore correspondent writes:— It is my painful duty to record the death of Mr. Leslie Lundie, second eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lundie of our town. A wire was received by Sergt. Stinson asking him to inform the parents that their son Leslie had been shot at the Dardanelles. The news was conveyed to the parents by the Rev. Mr. Champion. The greatest sympathy is expressed for the parents and family in their sad bereavement. The deceased was a splendid type of young man, about 27 years of age, and a general favourite. He paid a visit to his parents just before going to the war, and a number of his friends saw him off by the train. He departed with the best wishes of all.
